The Queen of Technicolor
Today 6th June, Dominican citizens will remember María Montez's birthday, as her city, Barahona, opened the María Montez International Airport in her honor.
She was an actress very famous in the 40's because she filmed in Technicolor adventure movies. She was an exotic Latin beauty who dressed in luxury costumes and sparkling jewels. She flirted with the camera that's why was nicknamed among others 'The Queen of Technicolor'.
Unfortunately, she died very young, in her bathtub, that drowned her sensual charm. But she left us excellent movies like Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves and Cobra woman (1944).
