Long live The King

Baby Elvis with his parents Vernon and Gladdys in 1938.
This picture was taken in his hometown Tupelo. He was 10 years old and next year, in 1946, he would be given his first guitar.
Elvis as singer, Bill Black as bass player and  Scotty Moore as guitarist  were taking a break from a recording session in Memphis Recording Studio whose owner was Sam Phillips. Elvis' first records cut in this studio. It was 1954.
This is one of my favourite picture. Elvis was radiant in 1956.
Another pic from 1956. He was playing in the studio where he became a Super Star. He cut his first two albums and was the American number one with the single, 'Heartbreak Hotel'.
01/06/1956, The Steve Allen Show...and Elvis sings 'Hound Dog' to a hound dog :)
In 1956, Elvis performanced in 'Love me tender' with Debra Paget.
26/04/1957, in Graceland, his mansion located in Memphis.
In 1957, he performanced in 'Jailhouse Rock'. In this film, Elvis is a convict who becomes a rock star.

Elvis was drafted into the US Army in 1958. He did not join the "Special Services", which would have saved him from certain duties, and refused special treatment. He was stationed in Germany for 18 months.

These pics are from 1960 film 'G.I. Blues', starring Elvis Presley as a guitar playing tank gunner with the US Army in West Germany.
In the 60s he made 27 movies. This one is a shot for 'Harum Scarum' in 1965.
In May 1967, Elvis married his lover Priscilla. After their wedding they went to The Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas Although she was 21 when they wed, the two met in Germany when she was just 14.
Elvis with wife Priscilla and daughter Lisa Marie in Memphis, 1968.
In December 1968, Elvis pulled back his ailing career by appearing in a dedicated hour-long TV show on NBC. The Comeback Special, which saw the King in raucous form, was a massive success.
21/12/1970, at the White House: President Richard Nixon meets with Elvis.
23/05/1977: Elvis Presley performed in Providence, Rhode Island, 3 months before his death.
Long Live The King, because You are always on my mind<3

  1. Elvis...
